**UPDATE:** The owner reached out to me directly and offered an exchange. When I went in, the staff was understanding and explained that the employee who handled my original visit was a newer worker who followed policy without the benefit of experience and judgment. They apologized for the communication issues and made things right.

I'm genuinely impressed that they took the time to track down my review and reach out personally. That kind of effort says a lot. I'm upgrading my opinion of this store based on how they handled it. Everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone goes out of their way to fix them.

I bought a $12 Hot Wheels Mario Kart toy (Princess Peach in B-Dasher) from Tidepool Games, and it broke within minutes. The head literally fell off during normal play. I went back the following morning (less than 24 hours later) to return or exchange it, but was told they don't accept returns and refused to exchange. There was no manager available and the owner supposedly wasn’t answering calls. They refused to do anything.

For a toy to break that quickly and for the store to take zero responsibility is unacceptable. They don’t stand behind what they sell, and there’s no real customer service. I posted this review as a warning to others. If something you buy is defective, you’re out of luck. I don't like posting reviews like this, but am really disappointed with the experience.

The location isn’t quite exact as shown on the map. It is on the boardwalk in front of where the pin is. The woman at the counter was very cool and helpful. They offer lots of top quality toys, not random plastic junk you might find at other toy stores. The shop is not “beach specific” there are lots of family games and art toys as well. They also carry Crazy Aaron putty which is a great adult toy for stress relief.

I have always been fond of this store because of their unique selection of quality toys and have always enjoyed the employees as well. I was so excited that not only were they open (Wednesday in December) but the staff member (Abby) was amazing! She was so friendly and sweet and honestly and truly helpful! I went in looking for games for gifts and she gave me honest to goodness feedback on the ones I had picked and guided me to additional choices. Thank you thank you thank you!!! Amazon cannot give the service I received today.
