Maureen's Ice Cream and Desserts

Maureen's was a nice coffee shop in the heart of Bethany Beach. The atmosphere was cozy with some plants to liven it up and a bar to eat at. They host coffee and ice cream, brilliantly using space for morning and later day treats. The latte didn't have an overpowering coffee flavor, but it was good. Service was good but I didn't witness anything exceptional. Lots of lifeguards were getting their coffee on the go which is always good to witness lots of local visitors. I liked it, I would return but seats are very limited. I understand space is a premium in town.

This is an amazing locally owned small business coffee and ice cream shop that truly stands out. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. You can tell right away that this is a place built with care and pride.

I ordered a latte and a smoothie, and both were excellent. The latte was smooth, rich, and perfectly ! not too bitter or too sweet, just really well made. You can tell they take time with their espresso and know what they’re doing. The smoothie tasted incredibly fresh, with real flavor and a clean, natural taste that didn’t feel artificial or overly sugary.

The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely appreciative of your visit, which makes the experience even better.

It’s refreshing to support a small local business that clearly cares about quality and customer experience. This is the kind of place you want to keep coming back. Highly recommend! Will definitely be back and can’t wait to try their endless ice cream flavors!

Visited Maureen's back in the middle of the summer of 2025. Really just wanted to shoutout the younger girl that took my order. To set the scene here, this line was looong. Everyone in town wanted this ice cream. It was getting late, so everyone was probably itching to get home too... Anyway, I didn't realize it, but my peanut butter + chocolate ice cream was probably the most annoying thing anyone could order because you have to go back and forth to add a layer of peanut butter and then a layer of fudge.

This young girl that took my order was still so happy to do it even though I told her she didnt have to keep going back and forth. Smile on her face and just very pleasant! I really appreciated that and still remember that interaction to this day, because most people in that situation would have probably shown more reluctance. Really wish I got her name but, just a huge shout out.

ALSO I need to add that this was probably the BEST peanut butter + chocolate ice cream I've ever had. There was a mouth watering amount of fudginess and peanut butter which is exactly what I expect in a peanut butter chocolate sundae. It was just so rich, creamy, and smooth. I will definitely be back!!
