Addy Sea Historic Oceanfront Inn

I’ve stayed twice now and both times were fantastic. If you’re looking for a low-key but very well curated experience right on the beach, this place is perfect. The historic rooms have modern amenities, the included breakfast is always great (and full service), and the to-go lunch for the beach is a nice touch. Afternoon tea with sweet treat is not to be missed - I had one of the best coconut cakes I’ve ever had here. There are plenty of tables in the dining area and also lots around their wraparound porch. They were doing a happy hour in the garden the second time I stayed, and there are always a few guests hanging around, but I love that they don’t force guests into group things like some B&Bs. For the beach they have chairs, towels, and umbrellas available. I also love that the location is not right in the busier town part of Bethany Beach, it’s up the street a bit so it’s nice and quiet. The management and staff are all top notch and very helpful. If you want a quiet and thoughtful B&B experience right on the beach, you can’t beat the Addy Sea.

I recently stayed at Addy Sea for a friend wedding host hosted at the venue. The Inn was both historical and modern with beautiful amenities inside and out. I was so impressed by the hospitality offered by every staff member we met. I’ve never experienced being taken care of so well as I was during my weekend here, and that’s not even a comment on the spectacular job they did with everything for the wedding.

Every detail and service moment felt perfect to me as a member of the wedding party. We were frequently checked in on and we felt supported with any question or request we might ask. This was also the first wedding I’ve ever attended where I didn’t hear any guests say they got the wrong meal or a bad drink.

On a practical note, the inn offered anything you could need for beach time and they had nice bikes available to use in town. It was also great to have a balcony off of our room for some extra sunshine and feeling connected to the beach and town.

I hope I can come back and stay at Addy Sea again every summer.

Our son's wedding at Addy Sea was nothing short of extraordinary. Full of charm, history and the most beautiful location. Every detail of the entire weekend was executed with such professionalism and care! The staff was warm, attentive and completely on top of everything without being intrusive. The food was incredible and the service was impeccable. It was breathtaking, meaningful wedding and felt magical. That night under a bright blue moon over the ocean, it honestly felt like they had even hung the moon for us! We will never forget it!
